Gone Fishing

Good things come to those who weight. The Tokelau Fish series was one of my first, I liked it because it had one coin a year, for 12 years. So I got 2 coins from each year 2015, 16, and 17, not realizing that the series started in 2014. The 2014 Yellow Tuna was listed as sold out. So I called APMEX and explained what I did. And how bad I wanted 2 of these coins. So they chainged the listing from sold out to alert and listed a buy price. It took 18 months to get one, and another 10 months to get a second one. The coin is a very nice looking and in mint condition. I will have my 2 full sets completed in 2026. It couldn’t have happened with out APMEX help. They are the best, and care about their customers. Two thumbs up.

Dull pewter-ish colored coins

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I ordered these coins because they were some of the least expensive over spot price. All other Brilliant Uncirculated coins I have order have been nice and shiny when they arrive. I can see my reflection in them all. These coins are uniformly a dull pewter color (or silver... duh). Looking back at the sample images on this site, they look identical to those images. Exactly that color. If that is the type of coin you want, that is the kind you will get. I had assumed the image shown had been dulled. There is nothing wrong with these coins, they are as advertised. I was just expecting them to be shiny like the other coins I have ordered.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Recognized Brand
  • Cons
  • Not Shiny
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good Value, Blah Finish...

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Must have for any fisherman! Love the Tackle Box ;-) The price is right for a country coin. Nice design, but the "sandblasted" finish is kind of dull.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Cons
  • Blah "sandblast" Finish
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Nice coin, good value

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Nice coin, great appearance and good alternative to maples or Eagles. Only downside I can see is the country is not very well known and may make it difficult to sell should I chose to do so. Still an ounce of silver at a great price for a coin that came in great condition.

  • Pros
  • Mint Condition
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Cons
  • Not A Well Known Country
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

beautiful coin

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

this is an absolutely stunning coin that i just stumbled on a few months ago but im buying them up as much as i can. there appears 2 be a prooflike and matt unc versions, from my understanding the prooflike was the first run and the minting was imperfect with lots of blems, the second run is the matte unc version that seems to be better quality from the minting standpoint. i feel these are the nicest 2014 government coins out there and am hoping premiums rise as stocks diminish
