Buy fractional Gold coins, and balance your portfolio without breaking the bank
Purchasing 1/10 oz Libertad coins allows you to contribute to a Precious Metals IRA in smaller increments. Adding Mexican Gold coins and other Precious Metals to a Self-Directed IRA allows you to balance your investment portfolio, with a percentage allocated to Precious Metals and the rest to more traditional investments. To be eligible for a Precious Metals IRA, fractional Gold coins and other Gold products typically must be .999 fine Gold. If you choose to sell your Gold Libertad coins, any profits from the sales can be tax deferred, just like any IRA profits, as long as you keep the proceeds of the sale with your custodian for reinvestment or transfer the proceeds to another IRA account.
Even if you are not paying the Gold spot price, it is important to keep track of it.
When buying Gold Libertad coins and other Gold bullion, no one pays the Gold spot price; instead you also pay a premium price that includes a markup for fabrication, distribution, nominal dealer fees and any numismatic or collector value. So, why, when purchasing Mexican Gold coins or other Gold products, is it important to keep track of the Gold spot price? Gold spot price is important when purchasing 1/10 oz Libertad coins because the price you pay is based on the Gold spot price. Likewise, if you are selling fractional Gold coins and other Gold products, you want the highest possible Gold spot price to increase premium price and profit on your Gold bullion.

The history of Gold Mexican coins
The design featured on Gold Libertad coins was first seen on the Centenario, a Mexican Gold coin that debuted in 1921 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mexico’s independence from Spain. Like the 1/10 oz Libertad coins, the Centenario was not intended to be used as circulating currency, but unlike the Libertad, which does not have a face value, the Centenario had a face value of 50 pesos. All these Mexican Gold coins, including the Libertad, Onza and Centenario, feature the Winged Victory image, along with the two famous Mexican volcanoes, Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl. These iconic images, featured on all Libertads, including Libertad fractional Gold coins, were designed by Emilio del Moral.
