- Encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box.
- Obverse: Displays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
- Reverse: Features a young black bear cub with its mother in a natural setting. A three-quarter profile of the bear cub provides a view of its features, from the soft facial expression down to the cub’s paws. The cub is seated in front of a salmonberry plant.
- Selective coloring enhances the reverse design’s expert engraving, adding new dimension to the depiction of a black bear cub and salmonberry plant by recreating much of their natural coloring.
- Very low limited mintage of 7,500 coins.
