The obverse depicts a bust of Ike facing left with ""DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER" around it. The reverse has a central vignette of Columbia with a shield below her and allegorical representations around her of a harvest, science, commerce and industry. It states, "ATOMS FOR PEACE - INAUGURATED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES SECOND TERM JANUARY 20, 1957." The portrait was designed by Gilroy Roberts.
