Asahi Refining took over Johnson Matthey in December 2014 and started using the old Johnson Matthey refineries in Salt Lake City, Utah and Brampton, Canada in March 2015. These refineries are creating new bars with the same classic Johnson Matthey look and purity struck with an Asahi Refining logo, making them highly desired by investors and treasured for any Silver collection.
Asahi Assayers and Refiners own and operate an IRA approved mint (ISO9001) that was founded in 1952 in Tokyo, Japan. The company was originally known for specializing is Precious Metals recycling. Bought my first one last week. Bar came with milk spots on the front bottom left corner. It is in sealed plastic so I guess manufacturing error... probably won’t buy anymore of these.

Ordered seven of these bars. I love the serial number. I love the look and mirror finish. I didn't like the fact one of the seven bars looked liked it was in a war. Scratched horrible condition. As for the other six perfect and plan to by more

I've never owned a JM bar but this is very good. The mirror finish is better than any other finish I've seen on a bar. (I held it side by side with other bars). Came in a sealed plastic pouch.
