I have purchased a few of these snowflakes from APMEX and this latest purchase let me down big time. The corners are banged-up / rounded off, came with heavy oxidation and scratches. Not even comparable to the one purchased just a couple years ago. For the premium, definitely a hard pass.

I gave mine to my newborn granddaughter for Christmas. I decided I would like to give her one every year at Christmas and unfortunately they are currently out of stock. I'm planning on buying 20 more so I have them for each Christmas as a matched set. I did notice, however, that the edge was a bit dented in one spot and was not well finished...that was my only detraction from a 5 star rating.

I usually buy smaller items like 1 oz bars and rounds. This is huge next to those. I like the shape. Just something different to look at than my normal order. I was given a tip from another collector back in the 1980's. "Buy what you like to look at because you may be looking at it for a long time". He was right and I will be happy to look at this for years to come.

Contrary to some of the other reviewers, I personally think this one looks better online. I love winter and snow, so I certainly intend to keep it. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful, I guess my expectations were not fully met, but that is okay. It is still a good value and has a pretty low premium for not being a generic, which I like. The real issue I have is that my piece is covered in little knicks and dents all over, however. They are all small blemishes which is fine, but I'm not overly enthusiastic about this one. That said, I'll still probably order more to stack as I prefer these to generic bars. As far as service and speed, APMEX always delivers and I am very satisfied with that aspect.
