Asahi Refining took over Johnson Matthey in December 2014 and started using the old Johnson Matthey refineries in Salt Lake City, Utah and Brampton, Canada in March 2015. These refineries are creating new bars with the same classic Johnson Matthey look and purity struck with an Asahi Refining logo, making them highly desired by investors and treasured for any Gold collection.

This bar comes in a very rigid plastic sleeve to avoid any damage since Gold is a very soft metal. You have a high quality made bar from a well respected company , formally Johnson Matthey as mentioned on APMEX website, then its .9999 Fine Gold , then its certified & also has a serial number which collectors love. You know exactly what you own & very important in a world full of fakes. If you decide to sell this item in the future it would be very easy to do. So this Gold bar is perfect & would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality investment in Gold Bullion.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Easy to Sell
- Mint Condition
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
