About the Silver Britannia
Silver Britannias produced by the Royal Mint have been subjected to price increases that remain largely in line with other bullion coins from sovereign mints. Silver Britannias are one of the least expensive sovereign coins on the market, similar in pricing to Philharmonics from the Austrian Mint. Although they have increased, they are one of the least expensive coins you can purchase. Silver Britannias, or silver Brits as they are sometimes called, have premiums that can be as low or lower than generic silver bars and rounds. Demand for silver coins from European mints is greatly affected by VAT taxes within those countries. As demand wanes from changes to the VAT tax, prices may decline. Mints located in these areas may seek to lower prices abroad to make up for the lack of domestic purchases.
