I have purchased a number of these American Eagle platinum coins from Apmex 2016 and 2017. I love the design and execution of the Statute of Liberty head and all the coins have come in BU condition as promised. Considering the 3 hundred dollar difference to pricier gold, these are a spectacular value for a metal 16-17 times rarer in the earth's crust with far more uses than gold.

Production of this highly valued coin has been variable from the US Mint. This is a great choice if you want a alternative to gold eagles. History says platinum should sell higher than gold. That is not the case right now, so take advantage of this gift.
