APMEX has created a process to guarantee these bars are direct from mint to you to ensure that our customers receive only authentic Precious Metals products. Tamper Evident Packaging (TEP) is your symbol of guarantee that these bars were processed straight from mint-sealed boxes, exactly as they were delivered, providing peace-of-mind when buying, holding or selling.
APMEX individually seals each TEP product to ensure that the authenticity and condition of each bar is protected after they are removed directly from the boxes. Each bar is placed in a protective authentication card composed of a non-reactive plastic polymer to protect your bar's finish.
The sealing process seals the bar within the authentication card, creating a tamper-evident package that will guarantee your investment indefinitely. If the tamper-evident package has been opened in any way, you will know it. After the process is completed, the bar in the tamper-evident package is removed from the machine and checked to ensure that the quality of the packaging meets our exacting standards. The first bar that was sent showed a large cut through the TEP. I called and a Return was promptly issued with return postage-paid. The second bar received was in beautiful condition. Mirror finish is amazing on both front and back. I could not be happier. I will be looking forward to future purchases of gold and platinum bars.

The bars and TEP packaging arrived in perfect condition. The APMEX silver bars are the most attractive silver bars that carry a low premium over spot. The TEP packaging makes the bars easier to store safely, with lower risk of damage or corrosion. I expect that the TEP packaging will make the bars easier to resell to someone who may not be a precious metals expert.

Interested in preserving my American dollar with my first investment, I bought this at PayPal price: $212.50; $21.25/ozt during $18.30/ozt. a 16% premium, which is actually a lot when you're dealing with a small bar like this. Well, at least this is the first real money I've ever held. But when the package got here, I opened it. Real professional boxing. But the item came in this plastic display container slashed open at the bottom as if someone wanted to test it themselves to see if it were real. The surface quality is sorta rough in places, and while I don't really care about how shiny the sides are, those are also rough but I know it's probably from manufacturing. The bar however does check out to be real silver. The magnet slide test appears true and the modeled density is 10463.86kg/m^3 where Engineeringtoolbox states a reference density as 10490kg/m^3; within 0.2% of expected. To be honest, I probably would have slashed open the package eventually but it's not very professional to reuse these plastic cases when someone returns their order and I'm paying a $2 premium to have it in one.
