Following the popular releases of Cassiopeia and Ursa Major, the final Northern Sky coin features Cygnus, one of the most recognizable constellations of the northern summer and autumn skies. In contrast to the Crux constellation of the south, Cygnus includes the Northern Cross and was one of the 48 constellations identified by 2nd-century astronomer Ptolemy.
Cygnus appears in the shape of a swan, of which there were many legendary examples in Greek mythology, from King Cygnus to Orpheus and even Zeus himself. This nine-star constellation is most visible in the evenings from early summer to mid-autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.

Globally, the Northern Sky series is not easy to find, and Apmex had the best price of anyone I considered. I trust Apmex to sell authentic items. Perhaps the Cygnus coin will appreciate in value (earlier coins in the Northern and Southern series have so far). Regardless, this coin's beauty and unique design make it worth keeping or giving as a gift.

What a gorgeous coin! I'm glad I was able to snap up the last in the series. The others are already far more expensive than they used to be when first issued. This is definitely a keeper!

I was thrilled to get in on the limited release of this collector coin. The others in this line have done well with value appreciation since they've come out! I purchased it for my wife, who is typically bored with coins, but she loved this one as it's very unique!

I now own all coins in both sets. Cygnus is beautiful. Set my alert the night I saw it online , and was alerted the next morning. As usual with APMEX, everything went smooth. You ladies and gentlemen at APMEX are great. Hope they come out with more.
