- Obverse: Depicts the famous Aztec Calendar stone. The design is in a circular shape resembling a sun, with rays emanating outward. In the center is the face of the Aztec solar deity, Tonatiuh, which gives the monolith its alternate name the Sun Stone.
- Reverse: depicts the striking left portrait of Cuauhtemoc, the last Aztec Emperor of Tenochtitlan. The name Cuauhtemoc means "Descending Eagle," as in the moment when an eagle folds its wings and plummets down to strike its prey. He wears the traditional headdress and ear ornaments of the Aztec elite, and is surrounded by an Aztec border as well as the inscriptions of his name and the metal content, weight, and purity.

Very nice round and has weight to it. Got this round about 3 weeks ago and still having to put it up somewhere else until I get off work and be able to enjoy the looks. Nice to have this piece in my collection.

Again the design is a lot lighter than that of the picture, but just WOW. So much amazing detail. I've had to take the coin off my desk because it was distracting me from my work. Absolutely beautiful coin. Well done APMEX

These are very well detailed! I ordered two along with the 5 oz. copper round version of the same item. While they are new and in near mint condition, these arrived packaged in thin plastic- I think since multiple items were shipped together they rubbed each other in transit and that movement caused a few minor scratches and dings in the item. However, everyone that I’ve gifted these to enjoyed them.

I love the intricacies of this round. I have a Mexican 20 peso gold coin with the Aztec calendar design as well, and it is beautiful, so I had to get a calendar in silver, considering the fact that the coin collecting community the world over considers the 20 peso to be the "most intricately designed" coin ever. The silver 5 oz round combines beauty, weight, and attention to detail unmatched in my opinion, by any other.
