The Colossus of Rhodes was a massive 33-Meter statue of the sun god Helios. It was erected on the Greek island of Rhodes shortly after their victory in the Siege of Rhodes, where they successfully defended the island from the Macedonian leader Demetrius Poliorecetes. King Ptolemy I of Egypt, a close ally of the city, assisted greatly in the victory. His effigy is displayed on the reverse along with a denomination accurate to the era.

Colossus of Rhodes is a very nice way to start a new series on the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. I look forward to collecting the entire series. Hopefully they will all be as good as this round.

I don't know it looks like it came out of a gumball machine it's just very generic very hard to see very low graphic design it's just not exciting it doesn't capture your eye I don't know I think they could have done a better job in the design but like they say silver silver right

I bought 1 coin with the gift tin, which I haven't received. A few days later I bought 2 coins for my kids and I have received them. I will tell you I was very impressed when I got these! Very detailed, very shiny and even look MS70! Im a big history buff and love the Ancient World. I can't wait to see what designs come out!

Just received this coin today and it is beautiful. I collect lots of silver coins and this one is one of my favorites. Very detailed, shiny, and just fun to hold because it comes in a capsule that protects it. Also a fun history subject to learn about.
