I will agree with 2 of the 3 earlier reviews. Bob from PA covers the merits of the coin where as Michael from Long Island hits the flaws of the coin spot on. However, the engaver's placed a lot of information about Da Vinci in a very limited space, so that is why I give a 5 as opposed to 4 stars on this coin.

These Icon bullion coins are well designed and the series to date is spot on for the people chosen so far. This DaVinci piece really captures this great scientist/theorist. A well designed reverse also make this series a step above your standard QE II issues.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice looking coin. the detail is on point and you have to love Leo D. But it’s no where near as nice as the Galileo coin. The Galileo coin looks like a proof coin with a mirror background which makes Galileo’s face pop. The background on this one is kinda flat, no mirror like background. I’m disappointed they didn’t follow the first one. Continuity in a series is important. Comparing them side by side and and you wouldn’t know they were in the same series. Obviously not Apmex’s fault. I’d still recommend it. hopefully the next one will resemble the first in the series.
