2022 1/4 oz Gold American Eagle BU
The United States Mint unveiled new reverse designs for the 2021 Gold American Eagle coins and the updated design is continuing into 2022. Mint A.I.P designer Jennie Norris created the new Gold coin design featuring the American Eagle, which was then sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Renata Gordon. The obverse has also been revised with additional details from the original design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens to enhance this classic image.
American Gold Eagle Coins
The Gold American Eagles series has become among the most popular bullion coins in the world since its introduction in 1986. These coins were the first Gold coins backed by the United States government, creating a new sense of security that American Gold investors had yet to experience.
The obverse is modeled after Saint Gaudens' design for the $20 Double Eagle in 1907 and is still used today as the picture of American coinage beauty. I've wanted to own gold for years, but the 1 ounce coin was never affordable for me. When I heard how popular the 1/4 ounce coins were, I ordered this as a sample. I admit, it's smaller than I expected, but the eagle head design on the back just blew me away. This coin will be my regular investment, as it's far more affordable than the 1 ounce coin. I would recommend this to anyone who's on a budget like me, or just looking to buy their first gold piece. You will not be disappointed.
