1963 C2 Corvette
The Corvette Stingray was the first car in the Corvette line to be completely restyled since it launched a decade earlier. This included being the first coupe offered by Corvette. Along with its cutting-edge style, it came with an entirely new chassis that featured an independent rear suspension - something never seen before on a Corvette.

The 1963 Corvette Stingray coupe was mainly recognizable due to its one-of-a-kind "split window" rear window, which was used in that year alone. The Corvette Stingray had many features that were like other high-end sports cars, such as race-inspired knock-off wheels and a highly developed fuel-injected engine. The Stingray was offered in a variety of colors and its interior was trimmed with genuine leather seats. It had other features like an AM/FM radio, power windows and air conditioning. Other notable features included side exhaust pipes, which were tucked up under the car's body paneling as well as chrome trim around the wheel wells and fuel filler cap.

About Corvette
General Motors has produced the Corvette in Bowling Green, Kentucky for over 30 years. The Corvette, referred to as America's sports car, is a spectacular example of innovation. It has been manufactured for over 60 years, making the Corvette the world's longest-running passenger car. From its origin, the Corvette was destined to become an icon.

The Chevrolet Corvette is a two-door luxury sports car that has been built and sold by Chevrolet since 1953. It is known for its overall performance, as well as its special fiberglass or composite panels. Until 2019, the engine was in the front of the vehicle. It has been mid-engine since then.

The Corvette is Chevrolet's halo car and the only two-seat sports car created by a prominent United States automobile manufacturer.

Zora Arkus-Duntov was a Belgian-American engineer referred to as the “Father of Corvette” for his work on the Corvette. The initial convertible car was openly announced in 1953 at the GM Motorama event. Select members of the public were able to purchase it later that year.

In 1963, the second-generation Corvette was introduced as a coupe and convertible. It was first manufactured in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri until its production transferred to Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1981 - home also to the National Corvette Museum.

The Corvette has become a symbol of America, known colloquially as "America's sports car." Automotive News noted that, after being featured in the early 1960s TV show Route 66, the Corvette became synonymous with terms like freedom and adventure. It is now broadly viewed to be both the most worthwhile concept car ever made and the most popular sports car globally.
