The reason you pay more than usual for a "random year" coin, is because you hope to hit the lottery, and score a slabbed MS69 or higher - putting you in the black. Thing is, sometimes - like in my case - you get a coin that puts you in the red. I got back a 2012 BU Britannia. An item that costs less than the $183 I wrote a check for. Also, it had blemishes and tiny scratches, so there's that... really in the red. Bottom line, don't gamble away your hard earned money.

Taking a gamble with the random year option is worry free with APMEX. I was just hoping to get a coin that wasn't all banged up....you know, BU condition as advertised. What I got instead was a graded 1994 PCGS 69 Britannia that's absolutely stunning. APMEX has once again exceeded my high expectations.
