Initially introduced in Utah following the Utah Legal Tender Act of 2019, they serve as a voluntary currency, allowing transactions at the vendor's discretion. These Goldbacks were great for my grandkids this Christmas! In addition to holding real gold, each Goldback serves as a homeschool lesson in Geography, History, Latin word for a Virtue, Economics, and Math (makes fractions fun- 1/200th Troy Ounce!). Well worth the extra premium. My one grandson, 10 years old, exclaimed, "Thanks Grampa, this is my best Christmas present!"
