Congress founded the American Gold Eagle program in 1986, and it became a worldwide sensation. American Gold Eagles are the first investment coin officially backed up by the U.S. government.
A record of durability and freedom are depicted in the art. On the obverse side of the item, Lady Liberty steps fearlessly into the obscure, bringing a torch along with an olive branch.
