2024 Silver Eagle Star Privy
For the first time ever, the U.S. Mint has struck a bullion Silver American Eagle featuring a privy mark. While privy marks have been used on select numismatic coins in the past, this marks their inaugural appearance on a U.S. Mint bullion issue. In addition to this milestone, the mintage is capped at just 500,000 coins, making it the lowest production Silver Eagle in history. This special edition was created in partnership with the developers of the mobile game Eighth Era, Nice Gang, who received the first 50,000 coins from the limited mintage to help promote their game.
2024 Star Privy Silver Eagle Design
The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic Lady Liberty, confidently walking toward the dawn, symbolizing freedom and opportunity. The addition of the 5-pointed star privy mark on the obverse makes this release truly unique. On the reverse, Emily Damstra’s bold bald eagle clutching an oak branch represents the enduring strength and spirit of the United States, continuing the tradition of powerful designs in the Silver Eagle series.
The Philadelphia Mint
The Philadelphia Mint, established in 1792, produced all 500,000 coins in the 2024 Star Privy series. While the coin does not feature a mint mark, the star privy serves as the key identifier linking it to Philadelphia. Known for producing exceptional-quality coinage, the Philadelphia Mint continues its legacy of craftsmanship with this historic and limited-edition Silver Eagle.
