New York Mets
The New York Mets, based in Queens, New York City, are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team with a passionate fan base and a colorful history. Founded in 1962 as an expansion team to replace the National League’s departed New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers, the Mets quickly captured the hearts of New Yorkers. Known for their blue and orange colors (a nod to the old Giants and Dodgers), the Mets have played most of their history at Shea Stadium and, since 2009, at Citi Field.
