This is my second attempt to review this product . First one was not posted. I have used Apmex for my gold and silver products before but very dissaponted with this purchase . Bar came in poor NOT MINT condition. Deep groves and scratches on edges and sides. Immediately took pics and email customer service - but no response.

10oz bar came in a very ornate box, which was a shame, because I immediately removed it from the packaging, as I only have room in my safety deposit boxes at the bank for actual bullion, not big fancy display showcases. However I appreciate the pomp, because this is a 10oz bar worth more than $12K when purchased, so I guess it should have a dignified shipping vessel. Bar is in mint condition and is stunningly shiny. I believe bars should be more than 1oz, otherwise one might as well buy fractional bullion coins for anything of 1oz or less. Let a bar be a bar and the bigger a bar the better!

I traded many 1 oz. gold coins for this 10 oz. I was having regrets about it and feeling nervous sending in my coins to APMEX. I got the beautiful piece just recently. Ordered late Dec 2011 and was delivered mid jan 2012. It was defect free and scratch free with certificate in the casing. Paid with check so they wait 10 business days before shipping. Arrived safe by FedEx. I would definetly recommend this bar and would like to buy more. Apmex was very convenient easy and honest and straight forward to deal with. Ordered online. This is my first experience with apmex and I liked it. Good customer response by email as well.
