Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a rich history that dates back to their founding in 1901 as the Washington Senators. The franchise relocated to Minnesota in 1961 and was renamed the Twins, symbolizing the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The team has won three World Series championships—one as the Senators in 1924 and two as the Twins in 1987 and 1991, with the 1991 series often considered one of the greatest ever played. The Twins have been home to numerous Hall of Famers and legendary players, including Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Kirby Puckett, and more recently, Joe Mauer. They currently play at Target Field, an open-air ballpark in downtown Minneapolis known for its beautiful views and fan-friendly amenities. The team has experienced periods of both dominance and rebuilding but remains a competitive force in the American League Central Division. With strong community ties and a loyal fan base, the Minnesota Twins are a cherished part of the Midwest’s baseball tradition.
