The Minnesota Twins are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a rich history that dates back to their founding in 1901 as the Washington Senators. The franchise relocated to Minnesota in 1961 and was renamed the Twins, symbolizing the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
