Miami Marlins
The Miami Marlins are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team based in Miami, Florida, known for their surprising postseason success and evolving identity. Established in 1993 as the Florida Marlins, the team won its first World Series title just four years later in 1997, and a second in 2003—both times as a Wild Card team, making them the only franchise in MLB history to win a World Series in their first two playoff appearances. Despite limited postseason berths, the Marlins have capitalized on their opportunities with dramatic playoff runs. In 2012, the franchise was renamed the Miami Marlins and moved into their current home, LoanDepot Park, a modern stadium featuring a retractable roof and vibrant, Miami-inspired design. The team has produced notable players such as Miguel Cabrera, Giancarlo Stanton, José Fernández, and more recently, Jazz Chisholm Jr. While the Marlins have often focused on developing young talent, they have faced challenges in maintaining long-term success. Still, they remain an important part of Miami’s sports culture, with a growing fan base and a commitment to building a competitive future.
