The 1 Goldback Oklahoma Note celebrates the virtue Perseverantia—Perseverance, honoring the iconic 1889 Land Run that reshaped the territory and forged the Sooner State’s legacy. This intricate design features a young pioneer woman charging forward on horseback, land stake in hand, symbolizing the unshakable determination of those who sought a new beginning. Surrounding details capture the chaos and courage of the Land Run, with wagons, riders, and the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Oklahoma’s state bird, soaring above native wildflowers. With scripture 2 Timothy 4:7 inscribed—“I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”—this Goldback note is a moving tribute to the spirit of resilience that defines Oklahoma’s history.
- Contains 1/1000 oz (0.001 oz) of .999 fine gold.
- Individual notes are housed in a protective plastic sleeve.
- Face: The obverse design portrays Perseverantia, a young pioneer woman on horseback, charging forward with wind-swept hair and flowing dress as she stakes her claim in the Land Run of 1889. She grips a land stake embroidered with “Perseverantia”, while the saddle bears “The Sooner State.” In the background, wagons and riders thunder across open plains beneath a soaring Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, surrounded by blooming Purple Coneflowers and Blue Wild Indigos—symbols of resilience and renewal. This layered artwork acknowledges both the triumph and the complex legacy of the Land Run, with the scripture 2 Timothy 4:7 inscribed: “I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Goldbacks
The Goldback® is a revolutionary form of currency crafted from 24-karat gold, offering a reliable alternative as the American dollar continues to lose value. Each Goldback is designed to preserve purchasing power over time, addressing the age-old “small coin problem” by allowing people to make everyday transactions with real gold. While inflation erodes the value of paper currency, the Goldback’s intrinsic gold content ensures that it will hold its worth.
Recognized as legal tender in states like Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, New Hampshire, South Dakota and Florida, Goldbacks can be traded or bartered like other non-current forms of currency worldwide. This currency blends gold’s enduring value with modern craftsmanship, providing a versatile and practical means of exchange that won’t depreciate, making it a sound choice for those seeking stability in their everyday spending.

I like the design. My grandmother could ride a horse when she was young. I was told she was very swift and fast. They were in the Oklahoma run and so the design makes me think of her.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Mint Condition
- Cons
- Common (higher mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

These sell for about 2x spot price so they are not really good value for pocket change. They are cute and fun for collecting but I know of no stores where they are accepted for payment. Why not just use green backs.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend
