Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos are a professional football team based in Denver, Colorado, competing in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the AFC West division. Founded in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL), the Broncos joined the NFL in 1970 after the AFL–NFL merger. Though the franchise struggled in its early years, it became a powerhouse beginning in the late 1970s, making its first Super Bowl appearance in 1977. The Broncos have won three Super Bowl championships—in 1997 (XXXII), 1998 (XXXIII), and 2015 (50)—and appeared in eight Super Bowls overall. Their back-to-back titles in the late 1990s came under head coach Mike Shanahan and were led by Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway, running back Terrell Davis, and a strong supporting cast. The 2015 championship, led by head coach Gary Kubiak, featured one of the most dominant defenses in NFL history, anchored by Von Miller, and marked the final season of Peyton Manning’s illustrious career. The Denver Broncos are recognized for their resilience, consistent fan support, and history of elite quarterback play. With multiple Hall of Famers, iconic moments, and a strong cultural connection to the Rocky Mountain region, the Broncos remain one of the NFL’s most respected and recognizable franchises.
