Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens are a professional football team based in Baltimore, Maryland, competing in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the AFC North division. Founded in 1996, the Ravens were established when owner Art Modell moved the Cleveland Browns franchise to Baltimore, though the Browns’ name and history remained in Cleveland. Despite being one of the NFL’s newer franchises, the Ravens have quickly built a reputation for excellence, highlighted by a strong defensive identity and championship pedigree. The Ravens have won two Super Bowl titles: Super Bowl XXXV (2000 season) and Super Bowl XLVII (2012 season). Their 2000 championship team, led by head coach Brian Billick, featured one of the greatest defenses in NFL history, anchored by Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis, safety Rod Woodson, and defensive tackle Tony Siragusa. The 2012 team, coached by John Harbaugh, was led by quarterback Joe Flacco, Ray Lewis in his final season, and safety Ed Reed, defeating the San Francisco 49ers in a memorable “Harbaugh Bowl.” Under head coach John Harbaugh, who has led the team since 2008, the Ravens have been one of the league’s most consistently competitive franchises. They are currently led by former MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, whose dynamic dual-threat style has made him one of the NFL’s most electrifying players. The Ravens are known for their tough, physical brand of football, elite defensive tradition, and strong community ties. Despite being a relatively young franchise, they have already established themselves as one of the NFL’s most respected and successful organizations, with multiple championships, Hall of Fame players, and a loyal fan base that has embraced the team as a central part of Baltimore’s identity.
