Houston Texans
The Houston Texans are a professional football team based in Houston, Texas, competing in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the AFC South division. Founded in 2002 as the league’s newest expansion franchise, the Texans replaced the Houston Oilers, who had relocated to Tennessee in 1997 to become the Titans. While the team experienced early growing pains, it steadily developed into a competitive force in the 2010s, winning multiple AFC South division titles under head coaches like Gary Kubiak and Bill O’Brien. The Texans have been home to several standout stars, including dominant defensive end J.J. Watt, wide receiver Andre Johnson, quarterback Deshaun Watson, and, more recently, young talents like quarterback C.J. Stroud and edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. Known for a defense-first identity during much of their history, the Texans have built a reputation for strong individual performances even during rebuilding years. Though still a young team by NFL standards, the Texans have carved out a strong regional identity, representing one of the largest and most diverse cities in the U.S. Their blend of passionate fans, modern facilities, and emerging talent makes them one of the league’s most intriguing franchises to watch in the coming years.
