This Superman silver medal marks the start of the Comic Art Coin and Medals program at the U.S. Mint. This new series celebrates the American roots of comic book art. Created in collaboration with Warner Bros., these medals were designed to remind us of the American values each of our favorite heroes embodies in their stories. These designs were crafted by Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, who has a history in comic art as an artist for DC comics.
