This artwork presents Libertas as the capstone virtue of the Idaho Goldback series, a role Liberty holds on every 100 Goldback. Set at Shoshone Falls in the Magic Valley, Libertas moves forward with purpose. She carries a shovel as a symbol of work, ingenuity, and responsibility.

In the background, Shoshone Falls—often called the “Niagara of the West”—cascades into the Snake River. They reference the irrigation systems that transformed southern Idaho through the Carey Act of 1894. By embracing the act, Idaho turned arid public land into productive farmland through privately built canals and reservoirs. Notable projects include Milner Dam and the Twin Falls Canal.
