Sail4th 250
Sail4th 250 is a multi-city tall-ship tour celebrating America's Semiquincentennial in 2026, tracing its roots to Operation Sail (OpSail), a nonprofit organization founded in 1961 by maritime historians and endorsed by President John F. Kennedy. OpSail was created to promote international friendship, maritime heritage, and sail training through gatherings of the world's tall ships, with its inaugural event held at the 1964 New York World's Fair. The event will feature over 60 international tall ships from 20+ nations, alongside 40+ U.S. and allied naval vessels, including a British aircraft carrier and Cunard's Queen Mary 2. The centerpiece is the International Parade of Sail on July 4, with ships sailing past the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson River, accompanied by 100 aircraft led by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Joel Iskowitz
Joel Iskowitz, a renowned numismatic artist with an extensive career, created 54 designs struck as coins or Congressional medals by the United States Mint. His notable works included the New Frontier Congressional Gold Medal presented to Apollo 11 astronauts and Mercury astronaut, John Glenn. Prestigious organizations such as the Smithsonian, the Pentagon, and NASA's Kennedy Space Center showcased his designs. These rounds were the final work of his long and distinguished career.
