Italy Flora and Fauna Series
The Flora and Fauna series celebrates Italy's rich natural heritage by featuring native plants and animals. Following the inaugural 2025 Daisy issue, the 2026 edition honors the lily — most notably the Lilium candidum, the Madonna lily, widely considered the national flower of Italy. Other native species celebrated by this design include Lilium martagon, found in the Dolomites and Alps, and Lilium carniolicum, native to the Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia regions. Long associated with purity, light, and Florentine heraldry, the lily holds deep symbolic resonance in Italian art and culture.

The reverse, designed by Sylvia Ciucci, showcases a detailed bouquet of lilies at the center, with the botanical name "LILIUM" inscribed in scripted text. The year of issue, "2026," and the mint mark "R" are positioned at the upper left, while the inscription "REPUBBLICA ITALIANA" arches above, encapsulating the design.
