Gates of Jerusalem Series
The "Gates of Jerusalem" series takes collectors on a tour of the eight historic gates built into the ancient Walls of the Old City, each coin struck in strictly limited mintages in both gold and silver. Designed by Zvika Roitman and issued by The Holy Land Mint, each release in the series pairs meticulous Proof craftsmanship with centuries of history, making the complete set one of the most compelling Holy Land collectibles available to numismatic gold investors.
The Holy Land Mint
Israel Coins and Medals Corp. (ICMC), operating as The Holy Land Mint, was established in 1958 by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion to commemorate the historical milestones, personalities, and achievements of the State of Israel through coins, medals, and bullion. For decades a government institution, ICMC was privatized in 2008 while maintaining its founding mission and character. Their struck gold and silver pieces are prized by collectors worldwide for their historical depth, fine craftsmanship, and the unique cultural significance only The Holy Land Mint can offer.
Jaffa Gate
Jaffa Gate is one of the eight historic gates built into the limestone Walls of Jerusalem's Old City, constructed in 1538 under the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. It takes its name from the ancient westward road that led travelers to the Port of Jaffa on the Mediterranean Coast, making it the primary entry point for Christian pilgrims arriving from Europe for centuries. In Arabic the gate is known as Bab al-Khalil, or "Hebron Gate," for the southward route it opens toward Hebron — testament to Jerusalem's role as a crossroads of faiths, cultures, and empires across millennia.
