This coin commemorates the 100th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake and fire and to honor role of "The Granite Lady" in San Francisco's recovery from that disaster. On the obverse is the second San Francisco Mint. Reverse is a copy of the reverse of a standard Morgan Silver dollar of the era 1878-1921, said to have been taken from a 1904-S dated coin.
