This is my first foray into precious metals, so I didn't really have any expectations of what to expect before the bar arrived. The Perth 1 kg bar is beautiful. It's somewhat compact but hefty. Approx dimensions are 4 x 2" with slightly more 3/4" thickness. Mine showed up in reasonable condition. It's not mint perfect since it does have light tone marks, but it's good enough for me. I'll be back for more.

If you are looking for another generic "pretty" silver bar that has not style or class look elsewhere. If you want a bar that packs a lot of silver in, comes from one of if not the best mints in the world, has character, catches eyes and tells a story then your a serious investor and you need to add this to your cart now. I have 5 of the 10oz bars from perth and finally went for 2 of these kilo's.... and my goodness im even more in love now. Bottom line if you are looking to seriously stack the highest quality silver around buy this bar. Buy 2. Buy 100. Just leave a few for the rest of us to keep buying!

One of my favorite kilo bars. The proportions are perfect: on the face, narrower and longer a bit than a deck of playing cards, but nice and deep at 22mm, so a compact package Most other kilo bars have larger face and are much less deep. Note that the Perth kilo bar and 10 oz bar are scale models of each other. Some k-bars have a beautiful face, like PAMP and Heraeus, but I give this a 5 rating for best shape.

This bar of silver has a few blemishes. It is far from a perfect condition bar. That being said, it is one of the only 1 kilo bars available from a recognized national mint. I am leary of private mints, and prefer silver which is backed or produced with the full faith of an allied government. It does carry a relitively low premium, compared to others of similar size, but is definately not a "stacker" bar. Keep this one in a check book box, and you will thank me. I wish there were a Royal Canadian Mint kilo bar, til then, this will do nicely.

As I usually buy the same bars 100 oz and Kilo when silver falls to certain thresholds in different market conditions but I like the Perth bars as an added value investment. Sure it breaks some of my rules and I know a sin, but you need to be diversified. Good size but best to keep wrapped or boxed to protect. Not really a stacker bar.
