I have ordered from apmex 6 times after research and every time I order I get exactly what I order and in a timely matter i highly recommend apmex.

It's not easy to review Gold. I'd imagine that as with everything else in life, buying gold is "in the eye of the beholder". But irregardless of the brand name, it does make better business sense to buy bigger bars versus smaller bars because they cost less in the long run. It's cheaper to buy one of these 5 oz bars versus buying 5 individual oz of gold, isn't that correct? The only problem with the 5 oz bar is that they are hard to find. As far as I know, only APMEX.com sells them. And they are cheaper to buy than say a 10 oz bar. But if you've got the funds, yes, buying the 10 oz bar makes even better business sense than the 5 oz bar does. Of course, if we think along that line of reasoning then why not just buy a KILO bar or perhaps a 400 oz bar, well, that's easy, because they are really expensive. Not many of us have $32,000 lying around just itching to buy a Kilo bar of gold with it. And now for a twist...the truth is that the Proof 70 gold coins are really the way to go when it comes to investing, but be aware that they are costly. Example: One set (that's 4 coins) of the 1989 Proof 70 American Eagle 4-coin gold set, set me back $12,000 but I have been told that proof coins are the way to go if investing semi-long-term. So remember that. And study up! I cannot stress that enough so all I will say is to be careful and always be on your guard when buying coins. Proof coins CANNOT be opened to verify if they are real. I know, scary thought right? That's why I personally prefer buying bullion like this 5 oz bar. Because you know exactly what you are getting. Plus you can always have it tested by an appraiser if you have doubts. A sealed coin cannot be tested (unless you break the seal and open it). Any place that buys and sells gold and silver can appraise your stuff for you. Anyway, where was I, oh yes, since everybody has different goals when it comes to gold, well, then you must decide what is best for your particular situation. Just remember that you will make mistakes. So if you are new to the game of gold, I'd advise you to buy small pieces and then work up to the bigger ones like I did. It gives you a feel for the game and helps with what I like to call being "self-taught". And yes, I made some mistakes but they were with the smaller pieces early in my buying career. Plus I was lucky, my purchases were covered and I was refunded over $18,000. I know, another scary thought, right, not being refunded? Ouch, that would hurt. But that's why I am telling you, so you can be extra careful when buying gold coins and gold bullion. Which reminds me, when you buy the smaller pieces of gold and they are sealed in that hard plastic (we're talking gold bullion bars here and NOT coins) you should immediately remove the hard plastic/assay and make sure your gold purchase is real. So, to sum up: Study, study, study. And always remember, in life, buying gold is in the eye of the beholder. One mans junk gold is another mans livelihood. Or womans.

After buying a few one ounce gold bars I decided to move up to the five ounce bar. Very nice! In fact I liked it so much i recently purchased 2 ten ounce bars.I believe these bars will make a great asset to my financial future. For someone who is not too easy to please I must say that even i have no complaints about my dealings with Apmex. Will be buying from them again!

Hefty bar that is really nice to look at. APMEX usually has in stock and can ship fast. Small premium for PAMP gold bar over others but I think its worth it.

APMEX staff are easy to work with and have great people skills. Staff people are not commissioned so you won't get the hard sell or overpriced product.
