I bought a 2013 1 oz. Britannia but returned it because I was disappointed with the shallow relief. It looked cheap. I then purchased the 2008 1 oz. Britannia and I was totally pleased with its decent relief. Because of this relief difference, the 2008 outshines the 2013 by so high that I would never again even think of buying a 2013 1 oz. 999 Britannia. The low relief makes it look like a weak strike or an overly circulated specimen. True, the 2008 is .9167 gold instead of 999 as with the 2013 version but so what? They both are 1 ounce AGW. Get the 2008 if you appreciate the aesthetic value in gold coins. If you don't care, it doesn't matter. In that event, get either.
