I have been wanting this coin for a long time, since I started collecting the 5oz series. The price always was more than I see paying. I decided finally add this to the collection as APMEX had a great sale for this coin. I visited Hawaii Volcano National Park last year and was a wonderful place to visit so it was more of a reason to buy!
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Mint Condition
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I'm new to collecting, so I'll consider this a lesson learned. When purchasing the product, a description stating "this version features a P mint mark" had me thinking the version I was buying had the mark. After receiving the bullion version and rereading several times, I realized that they were describing the coin in the previous sentence, and not the one on the page. It appears as if it has been change now, as it doesn't say "this coin" anymore. It's my ignorance, but just a word of warning to new collectors. If you think you're getting a good deal on a buy, use caution.
- Pros
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend
