I decided to get a sunshine decoder. I have to say it's a great product. But I have a hard time using it until I looked up youtube.com for instruction. Now i know how to use this decoder!

i only bought this for the sunshine mint coins to validate the coins, this thing is so hard to see anything i am wondering if the coins actually have the word VALID on them? there must be a trick to using this thing which i have not found out yet. if i ever do i am sure i will appreciate it, i have placed the decoder on the coin and rotated it - seen nothing. i have also used a magnifying glass with a light to look through the decoder and nothing. if someone could tell me what i am doing wrong it would be appreciated thanks bob

Prior to this purchase, I had purchased a 5 oz Sunshine Mint silver bar. I noticed the mint mark, and thought it would be cool to "test" my bar's authenticity, as well as make sure other purchases of Sunshine amount products are authentic. It's very cool in how it works. When placed on top of the mint mark on a Sunshine product, it displays the word "VALID". Turn it 90° and you get a sunburst design. Overall, it was an excellent product, and aria recommend anyone who owns more than a few ounces of bullion from the Sunshine Mint to get one soon.

I bought this because I had purchased the 5 oz Sunshine Mint silver bar. And I wanted to have peace of mind knowing my bar was secure. It works just fine, as expected, and has no damage to it whatsoever. It's a little on the expensive side, but I'm still quite content with it. I recommend the decoder lens to anyone that owns a Sunshine Mint product, and wants to confirm that their silver/gold/etc. isn't counterfeited.

This is a "Must Have" item for bullion collectors in my opinion. Silver is down at the moment but there are still plenty of fake bars and rounds out there. Sunshine has created the best security feature out there to date. The cost is well worth it for the peace of mind. I even picked one up for a coin dealer friend of mine and he uses it quite regularly.
