I did a trade with apmex and to my surprise I got this coin. Had no idea that this was the first year that the gold eagle was issued. I love gold eagles and this is the best piece of gold I have ever had. I thought there was something wrong at first because I did not see a traditional year as I have never had a gold eagle with roman numerals. A quick call to customer service and to my surprise this was the first year issue.

Coin came in very good condition. Has very small light smudge on it near the her arm, but otherwise it is in great shape for the first coin issued in 1986, almost 30 years ago.
