Overall a great silver bar with fantastic old-school design. As it is a used bar, there are some very scuffed up parts (one corner looks like it was burned) but the overall bar shape maintained and the simple design is attractive. Not such a big deal as this is an older bar which is no longer in production. I got a C series variant. Very fast and secure shipping.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Recognized Brand
- Cons
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I know Johnson Matthey has been out of business for a long time, but you would never know it just by looking at my bar. The price is a little high because they're getting so rare, but well worth the investment, in my opinion. Another very happy customer. Apmex is on its game. Quick turn around, & very discrete packaging.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Easy to Sell
- Mint Condition
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

- Pros
- Easy to Sell
- Recognized Brand
- Cons
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Unfortunately, with this being secondary market, we don't commonly have the most pristine options to select from. We do indicate on the listing that these "potential for toning and wear."

Nice couple of bars but they came in with a lot (and I do mean a lot )of dark tarnishing bands on the front and the back. I have a couple 100oz bars that did not have any tarnishing at all but these were the complete opposite.

- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Easy to Sell
- Recognized Brand
- Cons
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
Merchant response: Please note that the listing states "these bars have potential for toning and wear and may ship with some surface scratches or other aesthetic imperfections (which do not affect the value of the bar).

I first got into metal when I inherited two Johnson Matthey bars: I've been purchasing this or that brand of bar since then when the price was right, but when APMEX put these secondary bars on sale I saw a real opportunity to expand my collection. From the ten bars I ordered I received four of the earlier, broad design and six of the narrower and thicker bars that JMB made until they stopped refining. Surface nicks and two tarnish spots aside, all the bars were in grade A condition. As a bonus one of the bars even has the beginnings of chromatic toning happening... Sure wish I knew how to make that happen at will!
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
