With new ownership and a fresh start, the Seattle SuperSonics made their way to Oklahoma City in 2008. Since debuting as the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team has captured the glances, hearts and loyalty of their fans. However, their road to success was not easy. After a disastrous season in 2008, winning just 23 games, the Thunder made the 2009 playoffs after more than doubling their wins (50-32). In 2010, the Thunder grew their playoff story, making it as far as the Western Conference Finals. Going one more step, the Thunder made it to the NBA Finals in 2011, before losing to the Miami Heat. Armed with a magnificent lineup, the Thunder look to continue adding to their successes and hope to bring a title home to OKC.

I purchased this coin as a gift for a family member who is a huge Thunder fan. The first coin I received was in terrible condition, because the plastic capsule was open inside the box and the coin and capsule had been shaking around, scraping against each other during shipment. I exchanged the coin and the second coin I received was also scratched, even though the plastic capsule was intact (though not in giftable condition). I'm beginning to suspect that APMEX isn't checking the items it buys back. It's that or they just plain expect customers to continue paying high premiums for coins that are not in the condition described on their website.

Merchant response: Anon13: First off, thank you for purchasing from APMEX. We apologize that the product and service you received from us sub par to say the least. While we have had issue with some of these Thunder Coins due to the Mint, we always try to make sure that when a product is returned, any issue with the coin is fixed with the new one. That apparently didn't happen. Our customer service team is reaching out to you in an effort to make sure you get taken care of. We hope that there is something we can do to make sure you get satisfied. Thanks for your feedback.
