These are wonderful quoins and very beautiful but if you put it side-by-side with the Buffalo coins which are solid gold you can definitely tell the difference. These are not as gold looking as the solid gold coins but they're highly recognized and would most likely be easier to sell or use an emergency

Beautifully designed and struck gold eagle "coin". I was debating on the gold buffalo or eagle. For my hard earned money, I know I made the right decision. My coin was secured in the mint direct plastic case. Note: there are three indentations around the rim of the plastic case. My initial thought was the plastic case w/gold coin may have been damaged but it wasn't. The three indentations are purposely placed to keep the coin from spinning inside the case. Thanks APMEX for another easy and hassle free transaction.

If your going to get any gold coin, then this is the one. Don't really need the mint direct unless you plan on getting an Airtite. I would say this is the Cadillac coin to get. NO collection complete without this standard.

This is my first purchase of this item. Since my #1 desire was high liquidity in the future, the American Gold Eagle was the natural choice since it is among the most recognizable coins. I feel it's worth paying a slight premium for the packaging here, not only because it keeps the coin in mint condition, but also because when it comes time to sell it back it should be easier. However, the buyer can still visually inspect the coins in the packaging. Regarding APMEX delivery of this item: I am more than satisfied. I had some issues with receiving the package and I contacted APMEX with my concern and they had the issue resolved the next business day. They clearly have a lot of experience in this area. Their website has been very customer-friendly and their staff professional (I had to skip over several online dealers for not having these attributes before I discovered APMEX). It is when you are having a problem that you appreciate these things.
