I've bought several of the Rwanda African Buffalo. They are really a beautiful design. I regret that a I didn't get in on this series from the start. I've been trying to add some of the previous years from online auctions, but so far I haven't had a successful bid! I'm impressed how well this series has done with appreciation. Hopefully the Buffalos will do as well as previous years. The one thing that bothers me about these coins is the plastic package they come in. It appears to be made of PVC since it's so flexible. There's a lot of debate I've found on line about whether to leave them in their original package or remove them to an AirTite. I finally decided to go with AirTite. Since these carry such a hefty premium, I'd hate to discover pvc slime on them someday. Since I have no plans to sell them, I think that was the right decision for me. I would think anyone buying these for short term to flip on eBay might want to keep them in the original packaging though. Can't wait to see what the next offering in the series will be! I'll definitely be adding more.
- Pros

I'm a huge fan of the Rwanda African Ounce series. They are just very well done pieces and I really like the map of Africa on the reverse. That said, I can't say the buffalo is the most icon coin in the series, but it is still a handsome coin that was well done and is sure to appreciate quickly in the years to come. Great coin, highly recommended. I'll be picking up a second soon. As always, shipping from APMEX was prompt and the coin was received in exceptional, mint condition.

Looking for a reasonable African coin and found this Rwanda series. I wish I could have the last 6 years, but settled on 3~ a 2013, a 2014, and this one, 2015 Buffalo, came as advertised. 1 oz .999 and not a fraction thereof. It is a proof with a low to medium relief. The Africa continent shows very well, but the animals I think could've been a higher relief..oh well, for the price I won't complain. Its a very attractive African design. The Obverse is the national Coat of Arms, which is not as nice as the Liberian Coat of Arms. I'll be buying more.!!

I bought the 2015 because I have the 2014 Impala coin. I like coins that change design every year. Plus, the low montage makes them more valuable and collectible.
