I have to start out by saying that APMEX has never once disappointed me in my silver and gold stacking. Top notch all around. I bought 20 of these copper coins for my son. He is showing interest in coins but is a bit young yet to understand and respect gold and silver. I like the incuse design and, as many understand, the design aesthetics of a round or coin can make or break a deal - as subjective as aesthetics can be. For my choice to purchase these copper rounds, I liked the “1929” date at the bottom of the round and this alone was the thing that aesthetically made the round more appealing to me than others listed. I received my tube of rounds and was mildly disappointed that none of them have the “1929” date stamp. The band of stars simply continues around the round and fills the space where the date should be. Also, the weight and purity stamp on the reverse is falling over the edge of the round. I’ve never seen this happen before. But I’m pretty new to all this. It’s a nice and shiny coin otherwise and I’m sure my little guy is going to love having them and putting them in his piggy bank. But do note that these copper rounds may not match the picture. I’d still recommend them to a friend as a purchase to get kids interested in coins or metals.
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I purchased a couple hundred of APMEX's copper rounds to give to youngsters to pique their curiosity about coin collecting in a good way. Copper is an interesting metal, very attractive for the price, and these coins, while new and shiny, are really nice.
