Asahi Refining took over Johnson Matthey in December 2014 and started using the old Johnson Matthey refineries in Salt Lake City, Utah and Brampton, Canada in March 2015. These refineries are creating new bars with the same classic Johnson Matthey look and purity struck with an Asahi Refining logo, making them highly desired by investors and treasured for any Silver collection.
Asahi Assayers and Refiners own and operate an IRA approved mint (ISO9001) that was founded in 1952 in Tokyo, Japan. The company was originally known for specializing is Precious Metals recycling. This is the nicest looking bar in my collection. Seeing it in my hand was a really nice experience. I've got it stored in a capsule now to protect it from any unwanted scuffs. Love it!

This bar arrived in near flawless condition. No dings, scruffs or tarnishing. For a silver bar with no real fancy graphics it has a beautiful matte finish with mirroring engravings. This is a beautiful bar! I previously purchased a different bar which I intended to give as a gift. However, after I received this bar and noticed how beautiful it was, I decided to give this bar instead. I believe the recipient will appreciate this bar more. The bar has a mirror finish. The stamped serial number is a plus. I placed this bar in the CoinSafe 10oz stack-able capsule. It's a perfect fit.

This is a beautiful bar, I've been ordering different bars to see which I like the best and I think this is it. It's not too thick and it fits in the 10oz bar plastic case. Will buy many more in the future.

For the typical investor/collector/hoarder this is one that feels great to buy then put in a box for many years. It's about 2% more expensive than the standard molds, and looks far better.

i bought 5 of these 10oz bars. i love them. will keep them forever!!!!! it is so cool to hold it in your hand. i got the bug now. probably going for a few gold bars next!! Apmex is a great company to work with. price is great.
