Available at a lower premium than its smaller counterparts, this 100 oz Asahi Silver bar is a popular purchase for those looking to easily invest in larger amounts of Silver with a single purchase. Add this 100 oz Asahi Silver bar to your cart today!

Asahi Refining took over Johnson Matthey in December 2014 and started using the old Johnson Matthey refineries in Salt Lake City, Utah and Brampton, Canada in March 2015. These refineries are creating new bars with the same classic Johnson Matthey look and purity struck with an Asahi Refining logo, making them highly desired by investors and treasured for any Silver collection.

Asahi Assayers and Refiners own and operate an IRA approved mint (ISO9001) that was founded in 1952 in Tokyo, Japan. The company was originally known for specializing in Precious Metals recycling. Despite Asahi Holdings being a recent purchaser of Johnson Matthey refining, the select craftsmanship and high standards for which JM was known for will surely be continued.

Blemished bars, but they are 100oz so who cares

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

These bars came well packaged, but had round looking scuff marks on them like someone ran an angle grinder with a 100 grit flap disk across the top. They weigh 100oz, so it doesn't really matter I suppose. They are just not as nice looking as some other bars (APMEX, RMC, etc...). If you're buying 100oz bars, you are probably getting them just to hold bulk silver for low fees over spot. For the extra $.10 over spot, next time I'll stick to the RMC/APMEX bars.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Recognized Brand
  • Cons
  • Unattractive Design
  • Poor Condition
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Wouldn't Recommend-Many Surface Dinks

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

My bar arrived and not sure if this normal, but a number of gouges on the surface of the bar. Sure doesn't resemble the bar on the website. I would not recommend purchasing this bar.

Merchant response: Scratches are not uncommon on a new bar, but gouges are. We'll be reaching out to you to see if we may assistion with a refund or exchange of this item.

Awesome to hold

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Awesome to hold in your hand heavy 100oz gold. Same design as the old Johnson Mathey 100oz bars just restamped with Asahi that bought them out. 100oz bars are fun!
