The Gold Kangaroo series from the Perth Mint in Australia is a top-quality product that is fun to collect. Manufacturing quality is of the highest standard (I haven't been disappointed yet). The designs on the reverse side of the coins change every year and I've enjoyed the most recent variations very much. Each coin arrives from the Mint sealed in an acrylic capsule. The coins themselves are the same size as the AGE and AGB. Highly recommended!

The only issue i have is the holder was broken on this coin. I've asked Apmex to replace it. They told me they must locate one. The funny thing is the sell the holder that will fit my coin but they have yet to send me one after two weeks.

The Perth mint is well known to mint high quality coins at a relatively low premium over spot. In comparison to other 1 oz bullion coins, the Kangaroo coin comes protected in a high quality coin capsule. One could dismiss that feature by pointing out to the fact that there are countless coin capsules on the secondary market available at a very low price. I tried many of these and was always disappointed by the overall poor quality of these capsules. In comparison, the Kangaroo coin is packaged in a high quality capsule which is specially designed for the coin so the coin fits the capsule thightly. None of the other bullion coins on the market comes with such a capsule. That is the reason why I almost exclusively collect the Kangaroo coins. It is indeed a bargain when all features of the coin are taken into account.
