Coin Capsule X6D w/Black Gasket - 39 mm

solid capsule but I thought the 38mm was better fit for Scottsdale 2 oz & queens beast 2 oz silver

Got this for a Queen's Beast and it looks good. I would have prefered a cap w/o the black ring but this will have to do. The coin itself is held well by its diameter, however, the cap leaves a gap between the face of the coin and the face of the cap and it wiggles by a large amount. Not that big of a deal to me but perhaps others so I wanted to mention it.

Apmex what have you done? This does not come close to fitting the Queen's Beast coin. I feel your company ripped me off with this purchase because my Queen's Beast coin is like a penny in a soup bowl. I would like a refund but it is not worth the time sennding it back when it did not cost a lot. I would say other than this purchase Apmex has been great and I will continue buying from them.

I bought this to hold the 2 ounce Queen's Beasts silver coins. This may be the closest capsule option available before this coin, it really isn't a good match. As others have pointed out the coin rattles inside the capsule. The coin is 38.6 mm diameter by 6 mm deep. The inner diameter of the gasket is slightly too big to hold this coin securely. And with about 2mm of excess depth, it will rattle around. A smaller inner diameter gasket would work better. As a workaround I snipped 4 small pieces from the outside of the gasket spaced 90° apart and pressed them along the outside of the gasket offset between the cutouts. This effectively reduces the inner diameter just enough to hold the coin in place without rattling. So the gasket now looks like a sprocket. Works for better protection but not for display. With more coins to be released in this series I hope that Air Tite or APMEX can offer an alternative capsule that better suits these majestic coins.

When I was looking at the QB Griffin item on the website, just below the item, it showed these capsules to be used with this coin. It fits for diameter, but NOT for thickness! The coins rattle around inside them.

This fits side-to-side perfectly. The X6D case is deeper than the coin, so face to face movement is possible if shaken, but minor and worth noting. I love the case and would recommend it, but have to give 4 star to Air-Tite, not APMEX. The X6D series uses the same size foam the regular cases use. Therefore it is only half the thickness of the case. It would easily hold 2 of the foam rings in the case. They should include a thicker foam or 2 of the regular rings in these cases. It does work as is, but just seems like bare minimum of foam ring instead of a premium product. BUT...It does work and i would still recommend.
